Rhumbix is a mobile platform designed for smarter construction sites. Founded in 2014 by Navy veterans with deep experience in the construction industry, Rhumbix’s technology is the first to close the gap between the blue-collar workforce and management in the home office by providing real time data and insights for all project stakeholders. Rhumbix is headquartered in San Francisco, CA and backed by investors including Greylock Partners, Darren Bechtel of Brick & Mortar Ventures, Eric Chen of UJ Ventures and Ray Levitt, Professor at Stanford University.

Company History

A number of industries have joined the technology revolution. However, one of the world’s largest industries has been slow to adopt technology. Without technology workflow travels at a sluggish pace that can’t keep up with the rest of the world’s infrastructure. Co-founder and CEO Zach Scheel experienced this first hand as a civil engineer for the military. He managed large-scale construction projects; he also stood watch in the Joint Operations Center monitoring US troops by a GPS technology called Blue Force Tracking. An idea for better technology to support construction was beginning to sprout.

The breakthrough moment came a few years later when Zach and Drew realized they shared a number of pain points on their respective projects. With inspiration from Blue Force Tracking, they modified an off-the-shelf wearable for craftworkers to track movements through GPS on the jobsite. Over time it became clear other pain points were hurting the industry far more than worker tracking. Rhumbix introduced timekeeping, production tracking, labor productivity, and T&M tracking to bring organizations of all sizes online once and for all.

We are headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Rhumbix has raised $20.6M in funding. We are an agile and nimble team with less than 50 employees.
