COMPANY PROFILE:
SPECIALTY: Water & Wastewater Treatment, Power Generation, Petrochemical Refining, and Steel Fabrication
ABOUT: As a full service mechanical contractor we specialize in the installation of mechanical equipment, power & process piping and provide mechanical service maintenance for central heat & cooling plants, water & waste water treatment plants, pumping stations, institutional, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities. IMI utilizes the latest technologies for estimating, scheduling, design, coordination, fabrication and project management. These capabilities allow IMI to provide complete turnkey services on projects of various sizes and complexities.
THE CHALLENGE: Independent Mechanical Industries, Inc. (IMI) needed a new way to submit timecards to streamline communications and reduce reporting errors. Their existing paper-based process was inconsistent and required foremen to fax, or snap a picture to get timekeeping data to accounting on time for payroll.
This frequently resulted in double-entry for payroll clerks, and inaccurate worker paychecks due to incorrect time entry. On top of this, and most important, the back-and-forth phone calls and text messages to confirm data accuracy kept foremen’s valuable time occupied with administration rather than production.
